'Crust & Ember Pizzeria began with a simple dream: to bring true Neapolitan pizza to London. Founded by the Thompson family in 1985, our pizzeria started as a small, family-run spot with recipes handed down through generations.

Oliver Thompson, our founder, learned the craft of pizza-making during travels across Italy, studying under master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. After returning to the UK, she was determined to recreate the magic of authentic Italian pizza, using time-honored methods and top-quality ingredients.

What started as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a beloved local institution, yet our dedication to quality and authenticity has never faltered. We still use the same wood-fired oven techniques, mix dough fresh daily, and source the finest ingredients we can find.

Today, 'Crust & Ember Pizzeria remains family-owned and operated, with the second generation of the Thompson family now leading our passionate team. While we’ve embraced some modern innovations, the essence of our business remains the same: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
